The project focused on vulnerable rural communities or those where there was a situation of food insecurity, with an integrated approach, combining activities designed to improve the situation for the local families; on the one hand, to improve food availability and access to food, through training in integrated crop management, small animal husbandry, and environmental good practices, using the methodology of farmer field schools (FFSs) and technical assistance both for production and for the commercial management and primary processing of products; and on the other hand, to improve the utilization of the food products.
Objectives:
- To ensure that families have greater availability of nutritional food.
- To ensure that families have sufficient Access to nutritional food in their homes.
