Capacity building in regional organizations to provide technical assistance and training in logistics for healthcare supplies
In the framework of the USAID Deliver Project, in view of the fact that Prisma had been the organization selected by John Snow, Inc. since 2008 to provide technical assistance and training in logistics in Latin American countries, the course of Monitoring and Assessment for Strengthening the Chain of Medical Supplies was transferred to Prisma, in order that this might complete its training program on the logistics management of medicines. This enabled it, in turn, to strengthen the capacities of the key personnel of public institutions and organizations in the Latin American region to improve the integrated management of the chains of distribution of healthcare supplies. This was achieved by teaching the program, now complete, which contains four international courses: “Management of the Logistics Chain,” “Estimating and Planning Medical Supply Needs,” “Guaranteed Availability of Medical Supplies: Principles and Practice,” and “Monitoring and Assessment for Strengthening the Chain of Medical Supplies”.
