The Nutrition Program of the Paita Port Social Fund Civil Association “Growing Healthy” aims at reducing chronic malnutrition and anemia due to iron deficiency in children under three years old in the district of Paita, Piura.
Goal: Determine the current situation of child nutrition in children under three years old in the district of Paita, through the measuring, monitoring and assessment of the Nutrition Program effectiveness.

Achievements:
- Anemia decrease by 14 points (from 52% to 28%) in children under three years old
- 134 children (47%) recovered from anemia and 34 children (12%) went from having moderate anemia to mild anemia.
In 2020:
- First hemoglobin control to those who benefited from the project after 1 year of intervention.
- End of capacity building process in healthcare personnel (3 workshops).
- Implementation of the community surveillance network with the ACS and continuous process of capacity building (7 workshops)
Local government implementing actions for anemia prevention in the district.
