Direct interventions in health to improve the supply of health care and increase the demand for services are not sufficient to ensure the sustainability of the changes achieved. Communication in health has proven to be of vital importance for ensuring that these changes be maintained, and even increase over time.
This process is sustainable in the measure in which local capacities are built and strengthened with regard to communication in health and its implementation for behavior change. Once a group’s management abilities are generated to continue the process of promotion of healthy practices, the groups are institutionalized as referents in communication in health for the Region (Regional Health Council) and the capacity of interacting with other projects is promoted to support regional policies for communication in health.
Objective: To support the communication activities of the organizations of civil society in the Regions of Ayacucho and San Martín.
