The purpose of the project was to help reduce the incidence of diarrheal diseases in the population living in these human settlements; it was proposed, therefore, to improve the sanitation conditions through the installation of the public sewerage system, and to improve practices of hygiene and sanitation.
The project grew from a long road traveled by the leaders of the human settlements in San Andrés, who had first started the negotiations for having a sewerage system installed. Intervida analyzed and accepted this challenge, and formed a partnership with Prisma to carry out the project.
OBJECTIVE: To improve environmental sanitation infrastructure in five human settlements in the district of San Andrés.
