Abstract:
The project, funded by Manos Unidas, began in February 2007 and lasted 8 months. It is based on the progress achieved in Me Nutres (You Nourish Me) (financed by the Fund of the Americas), in the same population, although more focused on smaller children (< 2 years of age) and on two issues that had turned out to be very important during the first intervention: anemia and parasitosis in children.
On this occasion, once more, the project sought coordinated work, now in the homes with the mothers and in the schools (early childhood and elementary education), with the participation of the teachers linked with the local healthcare facilities.
Objective: To reduce the prevalence of anemia and diarrhea in pregnant women and children under two years of age in the district of Ascensión in Huancavelica.
Source of funding: Manos Unidas (Spain)
Project area: District of Ascensión, Huancavelica.
Duration: 8 months (February – September 2007)
