The project sought to help improve the income level of the agricultural producers and create sustainable employment in the province of Contumazá, by introducing new wheat varieties that are more profitable and resistant, as is the case of the durum wheat varieties, thereby raising the levels of production, productivity, and profitability of the organized smallholder producers.
Objectives:
- To help producers cultivate 1600 hectares of durum wheat in the course of the project.
- To raise wheat productivity from 955 kg/ha to 3500 kg/ha in the organized wheat producers participating in the project.
- To enable the organized participating producers to obtain an 80% increase in the sales of durum wheat.
