Donation to help study the contamination of water and sewage products in the districts of San Juan de Miraflores and Villa el salvador.

Objective

Since 2014, we have been conducting sampling tests at wastewater treatment plants in San Juan de Miraflores and Villa el Salvador, Lima. From these samples, we cultivate enterobacteria and evaluate antimicrobial resistance against 12 different antibiotics. Over time, we obtained evidence that resistance to gentamicin, ciprofloxacin, meropenem and cefepime has increased considerably. We will continue to conduct the same analysis to track antimicrobial resistance over time.
